Neuroscience & Steak
Oh man!!! I’m going to be sitting next to and eating dinner with one of the greatest visual neuroscientist. to date. I’ll for sure be tripping over my words for next couple of hours.
He could be called the Justin Bieber of visual neuroscience. I might be taking it a little over the top, but none the less, I am pretty excited.

Society For Neuroscience!
I was able to finally pack and head out for Washington D.C. but sadly without my labmate and friend Jacob. I will be tackling the SfN conference and city alone. This will my first time on the East Coast and it’s a bit unnerving and exciting all at once. I’m really hoping to make use of my time at the talks and poster sessions; which is making me to geek out a bit.
I mean who...

Phineas Gage: The man with a hole in his head
“Phineas Gage had a hole in his head, and ev’ryone knew that he oughta be dead. Was it fate or blind luck, though it never came clear, kept keepin’ on year after year…”
That song by banjo man Dan Lindner probably sounds like an outlandish myth, an old wives’ tale passed around a small town.
But incredibly, his jaunty tune about Phineas Gage is true.
He did have...

I’m selling a load of stuff on ebay at the moment (and I’m going to list a load more on Thursday) to help me fund buying a new camera.
Check it all out here, it would be nice to make some cash.

Why Do Girls Love Horses, Unicorns And Dolphins? →
People have long speculated about why girls love horses, according to Peggy Orenstein, author of Cinderella Ate My Daughter: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the New Girlie-Girl Culture.
By identifying with these dynamic, strong animals, Orenstein says, girls are expressing their own power.
“They’re all active, they’re all sources of power and motion and...

No Free Parking..
I would have to say the new year got off to an interesting start:
I found out my car was towed; which ensued in a battle to find out the towing companies number (Seriously?! Out all the days I usually park there it had to be towed on nye?!).
$232 poorer and 2 hours later, I found complete bliss in eating a handful of chocolate covered espresso beans while reading a book in the park.
Life is...

UPDATE
The past couple of months have been a bit intense, but not without new transitions coming into effect. After graduation I decided to take time off and not dive into graduate school right away.
Yes, the generic stereotype of wanting a break. (Deal with it!)
A small break is all I wanted. A break which allowed me to throw myself into research and other personal projects to pursue and complete....

TRAWLING THE GREY MATTER: Current Musical... →
I walked into the lady’s painting chambers the week before I left for this tour and overheard her listening to some of the best ambient music I’d heard in a long time. It reminded me of a film score in how it moved, of some piano-based Sigur Ros songs in it’s arrangements, and of the
